What makes a person racist

Can someone please explain to me what makes a person a racist. while the word racism covers a wide spectrum, for the purpose of this blog its about colour. We in the UK are mostly tolerant people and we can certainly say our country is multicultural.

looking back to 1950s when the first black migrants landed it was easy to absorb them into society, jobs were plentiful and a lot made their homes in London and surrounding areas. As the years have gone by we have had a massive influx of Asians and they have tended to congregate in certain cities like Bradford, Birmingham for example.

to go back to the main point what makes a person raciest. Is it wrong to complain that a city like Bradford is run by Asians and all the local corner shops too, it can be said the white “English person” are indeed a minority. In some cases 95% of pupils at schools  are non white and where the first language is not English, that churches have closed and have been turned to Mosques. Does that make me a racist. I don’t blame the Asians I blame the politicians who allow the situation to get out of control and that is how the vile BNP exploit it.

I do not live where immigration is an issue sure we have a few poles but you can count on you hand the number of black and Asian people who live here. When I travel to my home city Leeds I can see with my own eyes what going on, I don’t like  but please don’t ever call be a racist I’m just a concerned Englishman.

What the Tories pledges mean

1. we will work with councils to freeze council tax for 2 years saving over £200 over the 2 years. Answer. Less council money coming in equals less services it provides for local people.

2. All 2.6 million on incapacity benefit to be assessed. Answer this has been tried before and it was the Tories who introduced the benefit in the first place, as a way of getting people of the dole queue.

3.Replace the human rights act with a British bill of rights. Answer the human rights Act was a European law put into British law and to which we are a signatory and I don’t think it can be repelled.

4 Cut the number of MP’s by 10%, ministers pay by 5% and reduce the size and number of quangos. Answer nothing controversial in that. But can’t see that making a big impact on our national debt.

5.We will honour the military covenant, and make sure the troops are properly equipped to do the job. Answer they intend to reduce the defence budget by 10%.

6.we will cut corporation tax to create jobs, inheritance tax to encourage saving. Answer corporation tax will give more money to shareholder with little or none going towards jobs. Inheritance tax only effect the very rich and those with estates worth more than 1million pounds.

7.We will get to grips with the national debt and public spending. Answer 30 billion saving in one parliament will mean massive cuts in defence, health, infrastructure, all adds up to millions on the bread line repossessed homes and lost jobs.

8. We will help restore discipline in schools. Answer. All political parties are saying this question who has the best program.

9. we will suspend the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty if it is not in force at the time of the general election. Answer. This will put us at the fringe of the European Union and will put in jeopardy millions of British jobs.

10 We will double the magistrates sentencing powers, and make sure knife offenders go to jail. Get more police officers on the ground. Answer. With the Tory spending cuts means as many as 3600 less police on the streets, more jails will need to built to house the offenders another area where they intend to cut the budget

There you have it Tories speak with two tongues on almost all their pledges.

I really like this piece of music I often listen to it on the radio Its played approx at 1245 am just before the Shipping forecast on radio 4. It was composed by Ronald Binge who died in 1979. It is very relaxing and I can picture the waves of the sea as it's being played. I know it is not what you call modern type music, maybe that's why i like it as most of todays in my opinion is rubbish.

Nations debt

There has been a lot of press about how any government will reduce the national debt. The chancellor has borrowed vast sums of money to stimulate the economy during the recession, in my opinion that was the right way. We are now beginning to see a small step forward to recovery and growth and with this the attention now focuses on paying back the debt.

The Tory party would have us believe things are so bad that we must reduce the debt by 30 billion, by massive cuts in public spending if they took office. It has been calculated it could put a further 5 million on the dole queue, but the Tories won't admit it.

Labour has said it too will cut spending but not at the expense of front line services, but why have major cut at all.

Lets take our own personal debt the biggest one is the mortgage followed by the car and credit cards, you service those debt by your income the more you earn then you can pay off those debts quicker, your mortgage is spread over 25 years. Going back to the national debt this too can be spread over X years, you don’t have to have a time limit as the nations prosper so we pay off more debt. Our National debt is no way close to the GDP(gross domestic product) indeed in the war years 1939-46 we had it much higher.

We are not even close to going broke so believe the Tory press at your peril, don’t be taken in. I have said many times which of the two major parties to be fairer, my answer Labour.

political con merchant

Mr Cameron do not take the UK population for mugs. Your announcement. Do you really think by reducing your salary and that of your ministers together with ending  the subsidised meals at Westminster is going to make a hole in the nations debt it's gimmicky at least and totally dishonest to think the public it would believe that it's a trifling sum of money.

I want you to say what your real targets are, those on benefits, the poor, hard working middle class family's. Why not come out with the truth?

When the time comes for you to make the big political decisions you are found wanting, regrettably Joe public who have had enough of Brown just cant see what you are. Some suspect your more right wing than Thatcher, Me, I know you are most definitely are. So Mr con man, oops cant say that lets say a political con merchant, you won't change my thoughts on what you stand for and the Party you lead dark days indeed are ahead, even darker should you take power.

As a foot not I noticed that Cameron has not said anything positive that we now appear to be out of the recession confidence is slowly coming back. Who was right Brown and Darling pumping billions into the economy or Cameron and Osbourne wanting to do nothing and leave it to market forces?

Drip feeding

The Tories have been very clever in their propaganda program. Over the last last year they have been drip feeding you snippets of information without actually offering you a solution to any of the problems.

Take the credit crunch, when Brown bailed out the banks with massive tax payers money all the Tories did was moan about the co called national debt it has landed us in. In truth it saved millions of bank accounts and jobs, the Tories kept drip feeding bad news about it gradually turned the gullible into believing we would all be broke for years to come.

Afghanistan a war that has cost many a service man lives. On this subject they are using a double edge strategy. Every day you may have noticed the Sun, a popular tabloid for the working class, drip feeding you with how badly our troops are equipped both with personal kit and vehicles and at the same time praising their bravery in combat. This is to make you unsure  and that we  are failing our troops, an appalling assumption on our intelligence.

People remember the next election (not too far away) is not about the credit crunch, Afghanistan, Lockerbie or Gorden Brown, Its jobs, NHS, welfare and fairness, none of these areas are save under the Tories. Look over the top of the Tory gloss and the drip feeding and have faith in the Labour Party for the future and not go back to the dark days of Thatcherism.

MP's expenses

I have just been looking at the published list of MP expenses and apart from the blacked out information it does tell you one thing. These MP's have a habit of signing their monthly receipt with out thinking about it. I looked at one MP's and what was striking is the the fact his food bill was the same total every month £400 with a small reduction when the house is in recess. Does he eat the same food month in month out and has not the cost of food gone up over 8% in the last 12 month.

Another area that needs to be questioned is council tax £70 a month now what's strange is this amount is the same going back to 2004 right up to the 2008 published figures has he not a council tax raise in 4 years, even the amount is questionable wherever the property  is located the council rates must be the cheapest in the country. Or as I see it the figure was plucked out of thin air as with the food.

My final and very prevalent is just what the hell do MP's spend their salary on, a box of chocolate for the wife maybe. Oops have to be careful what I say  they may even put that on expenses. The figures quoted are from John Battle MP for Leeds West published allowances

foot note

do you think MP's claim the maximum allowed and divide the the sub section to reach this total?

IF ONLY

England my England

Goodbye to my England, So long my old friend
Your days are numbered, being brought to an end
To be Scottish, Irish or Welsh that's fine

But don't say you're English, that's way out of line.

The French and the Germans may call themselves such
So may Norwegians, the Swedes and the Dutch
You can say you are Russian or maybe a Dane
But don't say you're English ever again.

At Broadcasting House the word is taboo
In Brussels it's scrapped, in Parliament too
Even schools are affected.. Staff do as they're told
They must not teach children about England of old.

Writers like Shakespeare, Milton and Shaw
The pupils don't learn about them anymore
How about Agincourt, Hastings , Arnhem or Mons ?
When England lost hosts of her very brave sons.
We are not Europeans, how can we be?
Europe is miles away, over the sea

We're the English from England, let's all be proud
Stand up and be counted - Shout it out loud!
Let's tell our Government and Brussels too
We're proud of our heritage and the
Red, White and Blue
Fly the flag of
Saint George or the Union Jack
Let the world know

WE WANT OUR ENGLAND BACK !!!!

BNP

The British National Party as no part to play in our politics. It is evil, and raciest. All you people who thought you were giving Brown a bloody nose has let in through the back door 2 BNP's MEP's who are responsible for thousands of constituents in Lancashire and Yorkshire. My MEP's now, that is very hurtful to me personally. I had relatives who fought in WW2 to rid us of Nazism and you people who voted for them have made their sacrifice worthless.

So all you people who did not vote at all because you could not be bothered or for any other pathetic excuse have now given the BNP a platform to promote their vile policy's. Think about it very carefully  had UKIP got another 900 votes I would not be writing this blog, not that I am a supporter of that party either at least it is not raciest. Why did you not turn out and vote green for god sake.

Did you know the BNP only allow white people to stand as a candidate, that alone is against the law under the discrimination law of our country, of course the BNP will tell you otherwise. They have in fact broken electoral law and the commission will be looking into this. Their victory may only short lived and could be expelled if found guilty.

One more point those who voted BNP have now given them £4 million to promote their policy's and probably made Griffin a millionaire I hope you are proud of your selves

Fickle electorate

We (Labour party) took one hell of a beating on Thursday night having lost the four shire councils we were defending. Many hard working councillors have lost their seats for one reason only. The parliamentarians had their hands in the pot, the fact it was all the party's who were at made not the slightest difference. Such is the electorates fickle understanding between national and local issues. These elections were local elections and should be fought on local issues yet the electorate never do that.

If the electorate wanted to give MP's  a bloody nose how come the Tories won 250 seats, after all in theory the expenses scandals was not the fault of just Labour yet they lost over 250 seats.Who said politics is easy?

Prime minister Brown had to reshuffle the cabinet early due mainly for being stabbed in the back by the very people who he appointed to the cabinet, one forgets it is the prerogative of the prime mister to hire and fire those he chooses to serve in the cabinet.

Sunday night will almost be as bad Thursday's local elections. The electorate seem to have no interest in European elections and there are many reasons for that, again the electorate can  give the government a real bashing by voting for other political party's without actually giving labour the boot in Westminster.  As the European Election is based on proportional representation, Labour will not lose all its seats but there is no question they will be significantly reduced at the expense of the minor parties.

I will be more interested in the turn out. 40% and above would appear to good, we British don't take a lot of interest in the European Union but I don't include myself in that. Over 2 million jobs and 70% of our trade is through the EU so we should take more interest than we do.

Come Monday  questions will be asked can Brown survive. I hope so, the last thing we need is a leadership election followed by a general election has the reforms that need to be introduced will be put on the back burner. Of course Cameron wants an election he thinks he can win, so far he has evaded the the big policy issues. He is all waffle and no substance.
